A few (well, more like several) posts ago I had a sneak peek of a wedding that I helped design. Well, finally we have some photos to show! I’m excited about this wedding for many reasons…the biggest one, of course, is that it was my sister’s wedding!

A Cheery Summer Wedding
She had three things (besides the groom) that absolutely had to be in the wedding: her color scheme—orange and yellow, converse tennis shoes and white garden chairs. The look ended up being wonderful for a Summer Wedding. With those items in mind—and the bride and groom’s personalities—I created a stationary set that would set the theme of the fun and laid-back event.

The wedding was positioned a little far on the property so we had a couple of “Gators” to help guests travel to and from the parking/bathroom area to the ceremony site. We had asked guests to dress comfortably and most enjoyed the ride on the “Wedding Wagon” and “Bathroom Buggy.”
The color scheme was driven throughout the event in the floral arrangements and ribbon. The focal point was the ribbon wall that served as a divider from the reception and ceremony as well as an alter backdrop.
I created all the flower arrangements (with help from my lovely sister-in-law) from flowers purchased through FiftyFlowers.Com. We made 20 table arrangements, the bridal bouquet, two bridesmaid’s bouquets, all the boutonnieres
, all the corsages, and small floral arrangements for less than $500. Amazing.
Instead of a cake we decided on having seven cakes! Each cake was a different delicious flavor and they all had a matching butter cream frosting except for the main wedding cake that was dressed in the wedding colors. The cakes were made by Shawnee area cake artist
The Cake Diva. (The bride and groom are going to have tiny individual cakes in the same flavors for their first anniversary.)
The venue was a Pecan Farm so we put a jar of pecans out with cellophane bags for guests to fill for the wedding favor. Each bag had a sticker to seal it with it that read, “I’m Nuts about Heather and Mitchell!”The couple was radiant in their finest duds—including their converse shoes!
Thank you to Heather and Mitchell for letting me post your beautiful wedding. May your life be filled with happiness and love!
