Hipster Wedding

I just had to share a link to this lovely infographic from Refinery 29: Are You at a Hipster Wedding?.

I love some of the qualifying items: Does the wedding have a hashtag? Are there lots, and lots, of Mason jars? Did you get a handmade favor?

Bahaha.. I think that Hipster Weddings are now my favorite type of wedding. When I throw my 10 year anniversary party it will certainly be part hipster. It will be chock full of organic, locally made food (most likely from a food cart), a hashtag will be necessary, and there will be succulents everywhere. Oh, and everyone will be encouraged to have out their smart phones for lots of instagramming and tweets: #10yearsofawesome. 😉 Here is to hoping that Hipster weddings are still in vogue and Instagram still exists four years from now!

Tips on Making a "Where the Wild Things Are" Hat

Yesterday’s post over the awesome Where the Wild Things Are First Birthday thrown by Adi, from Garden of Edlen, for her son Jack left one of my favorite details out… just because I wanted to share it with you in a separate post because it was THAT cool.

Right before we left, we got to see little Jack open his gift from us and from Jason and Suzannah from Adventures in Dressmaking. Suzannah had made little Jack a hat like Max’s from the story “Where the Wild Things Are.” It was so adorable I asked for a few tips for all my readers out there still trying to figure out Halloween costumes this year.

You know, it is pretty awesome to have super talented and amazing friends. I love throwing a party any day of the week. But, sometimes it is just fun to go to a party and be surprised by all the lovely little details. Adi, from Garden of Edlen (a fellow Portland blogger), threw a top-notch, awesome birthday party for her son Jack’s first birthday.
