A Well Crafted Lady

Category

Typically around this time of year I am thinking so much about what I want to do for other people that I get a bunch of messages from my family and friends asking me what is on my wish list. This year was no different.

And, while of course there are things I want (I like things)… very few items come to mind when people ask that question. I’m just happy to celebrate with people, especially this year. It has been a long, tough year and I just want to spend some good quality time with people I care about.

However, my sister and mother never, ever take that as an answer…. if you follow my Pinterest boards you might have seen me go a little online window shopping crazy with my wish list. Sorry about that!

A blogger I follow posted her Want, Need, Wear, Read list and I loved it…. so, I am mimicking her a tad and putting up my own list.

Want: I really want to get some pretty barware. I am in love with the twig barware kit and glass bottles with wood stoppers from West Elm. Seriously… check out that jigger! Lovely.

Need: Oh dear, oh dear… I need new underwear and bras SO bad. Pregnancy and nursing did a number on my body. I’d like to throw out all that I have and replace them with some pretty new things from Victoria’s Secret or something similar.

Wear: This area is always my biggest wants… I love things I can wear. Makeup, perfume, lipstick, shoes, purses, accessories, clothing. I love it all. Two things that are big on my want list are a pair of cute rain boots (Target) (I live in Portland, after all!) and a nice looking camera bag (Jo Totes.)

Read: It has been so very long since I have read something longer than a blog post. There are a couple of books I want right now. But, I’m also craving a magazine subscription or two. BUT, the one book I want the most right now is the 2013 Writer’s Market Deluxe Edition. I wouldn’t mind the short story and novel edition too!

What is on your Want, Need, Wear, Read Wish List!?

I posted this on Instagram a while back. But, I really like the idea behind it, so I am posting it here with a little more info. The photo was taken by Macey of Motormouth Studio (she did my head shots recently) and then I added the text via an iPhone app.

Five Things about Jenni Bost:
  1. I write romance novels. Well, that is part of the truth. I write as a ghost writer for several different companies. I have written several short stories and two novels now that are pretty much right there in the romance category. Personally, if I ever get around to finishing my own novel, I’d write a novel in the fantasy genre. I’ll be participating in Novel November… but, I just got a job ghost writing a novel SO I’ll be working on that one instead of my own. I figure all of this ghost writing is really good practice!
  2. My hubs and I were set up by two friends while we were in college. That is just the tip of a complicated love story. I wouldn’t change a second of our story though. So thankful to our friends that set us up! (Shout out to Amanda and Loni!)
  3. Spell check is my second best friend. (My hubs, and editor, is my first best friend.) I actually can catch poor spelling in other people’s writing (even worked as an editor for a newspaper) but, I cannot catch spelling mistakes in my own writing. Some words I refuse to write because they give me so much grief.
  4. I read really, really fast. I am not bragging… it is just a fact. I’ve always loved reading and I have always read quickly. (I finished Harry Potter 7 in 8 hours.) If I am really into a book, then I can’t put it down. I devour it. Don’t ask me to read aloud though, I stumble over pronunciations of things bad!
  5. I think about parties ALL THE TIME. In my brain right now I have ideas for at least 4 upcoming parties/events. We just finished our annual Halloween party and I am dreaming about my birthday. Just how it is!
Now, YOUR TURN!
Tell me 5 interesting or unknown facts about you!

I’ve discovered the awesomeness that are the Old Navy Rockstar skinny jeans. I’m not much for putting up style posts. I often feel silly when taking “style” photos. Haha… getting dressed daily is kind of a HUGE feat most days. But, these jeans have become my go-to pants and I felt like sharing.

The jeans come in a multitude of colors. They are super comfy and fit great…. that is, if you try them on. Each pair of mine are either a different size or different fit. I once ordered three in different colors, but the same size, and they all fit differently. I felt like goldilocks of pants.

So, while I recommend the jeans… I do also recommend going into the store and trying them on. Don’t even trust the fact that you have another pair in the same size.

Do you have a clothing item that you buy several in multiple colors because you love it so much?
