As part of my Summer Entertaining Series I’ve asked several of my favorite bloggers to share tips, parties, recipes, and ideas for great Summer parties. Today I’ve got one of my FAVORITE bloggers (& friends) sharing her favorite Summer Essentials. Please welcome Sam of Sam Rosen to A Well Crafted Party!

Hi everyone! Thanks to Jenni for having me! I usually blog about fashion and parties so I knew exactly what I would share when Jenni asked me to share with her readers. I am a big fan of the bar cart trend right now! It’s perfect if you don’t have room for a full bar in your house, it’s always party ready! If you’ve looked into buying a bar cart, you probably found a large amount of gorgeous carts that are extremely expensive! I suggest looking into thrift shops. I am lucky beyond words because this was my grandparents bar cart and when my grandma passed my dad made sure this bar cart got back to Oregon {from Florida} for me. I immediately started to fill it. I had most of this stuff already, just waiting for a bar cart. I am obviously a champagne drinker and eventually I’ll get a few more alcohols and bar accessories but until then, this is what I’m working with. I found most of these items thrifting, given to me by family. or at stores like Target/TJ Maxx/West Elm.

Tips and Details to Make Your Summer Bar Cart

Sweet Little Appetizer Plates are a Perfect Addition to a Summer Bar Cart

Add fun party supplies to your Summer Bar Cart to liven up any event

Some basics to start with are interesting/fancy/vintage glasses, your beverage of choice plus a mixer, interesting coasters, a cocktail recipe book, drink stirrers, and of course, unique straws.

I love the bar cart because you can do anything you want with it. You can get a stand and put a tray on it for a cheaper option, add flowers, have you favorite kind of drinks, switch them out seasonally, and show off all your gorgeous stemware that would otherwise be stashed away. For summer I always want something really light and refreshing, I especially love grapefruit mimosas. Sparkling rosé and Pimms are other favorites of mine for the warmer months. One DIY I’m dying to try this summer is edible flowers frozen in ice cubes, so perfect for a summer cocktail party!

Some items I’ll be adding to my bar cart in the next few months are interesting vintage glass decanters, a  cocktail shaker set, an ice bucket, some cool shot glasses, and of course some great alcohols! Do you have a favorite summer cocktail or bar item?

Thanks for having me Jenni!

  1. Thanks for having me Jenni! I already updated my cart to have some 4th of July accessories like red white and blue pinwheel drink stirrers and some cute red white and blue crowns, even more summery now!

  2. This is a beautiful cart! We have a buffet table at home with a tray on it that we use as our bar. It does the job, but it’s not mobile like the cart is.

    • We have an armoir for our bar at home. But, I’d love to do an outdoor barcart for some of our summer parties.

  3. So pretty! I love how detailed everything is. I would definitely feel pampered if this rolled up. Well done.

  4. I love all of the gold accents on the cart and the accessories. I’ve been in the market for a bar cart for a while and will have to keep hunting. Thanks for sharing, Sam – and thanks for the series, Jenni!
