Chips and Wine A Surprisingly Delicious Combination

Through a series of tweets I discovered an open invitation through Snooth.com for a Kettle Brand Chips and Snooth Cook-Off. A bunch of us got together and RSVP’d excited to see what the heck that they could do to combine chips and wine. Chips and beer— that I do all the time. But, I really have never sat down with some chips and wine…much less used it as a refined appetizer at a party. Boy howdy did I learn a thing or two.

The Pros versus Joes cooking competition had three recipes concocted by pros and three by regular amateur chefs. All of the recipes included one of the many different brands of Kettle Brand Chips. We were not told which recipes were from the Pros and which were from the Joes. I was one of the four judges for the evening. My favorite was a Tabasco Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Kettle Brand Buffalo Bleu Chip Crust, Creamy Coleslaw Black Pepper and Red Onion. SO GOOD.

The event was held at Vibrant Table’s Loft location. Several bloggers ended up going to the event… though, not everyone there was a blogger. I was super excited to see some friendly faces and meet a few new people. I tried snapping a shot with all the bloggers together and of course the camera was totally out of focus. Check out their awesome blogs though, even if you can’t see their pretty faces on my blog! Bloggers in attendance (please let me know if I forgot you!): The Spicy Bee, Talk Eat Drink Portland, What’s 4 Dinner Mama, A Tiny Rocket, Pechluck, and Will Run for Pasta.

Disclaimer: I received free refreshments at an event by Snooth.com. I was not approached as a blogger. I did not receive compensation for my thoughts. All thoughts are my own.
