Ahhh…. weddings are the ultimate parties, aren’t they? I got married almost seven years ago and still buy wedding magazines for inspiration. But, as many parties as I get to help with, nothing compares to weddings in my book. Which is why I was thrilled when my friend Leah asked me to help with her wedding this past year!

She and her now-husband, Jake, are two really amazing and kind people. Their wedding Sept. 1, 2012, was a perfect reflection of them as a couple as well as their love for travel. Leah spent months and months gathering inspiration for her event. She was drawn to natural elements as well as the weddings that featured a travel-theme.

We designed (and put together) her boarding pass invitations to set the mood for the party. But, the main event had all the fun details. A big thank you to her wonderful photographer, Katherine McClosky Photography, for letting me share these images with you.

Favorite Details:

  • I am in love with the printed materials that were at her wedding. The printers took care of the large signs, programs, and all of the favor cups. Morel Ink did an AMAZING job with all of the paper goods. The quality was amazing, the service was efficient… but, more than any of that, the people who worked there were patient and great at their jobs. And, there is nothing like getting a little bundle of FINISHED product instead of a big pile of printed paper that I then have to cut and fold. I’d highly suggest finding a great printer in your area and paying the little bit extra that keeps you from needing to worry about those details. Plus, no one wants a paper cut on their big day!
  • The wedding flowers were a work of love. It was my first time designing intricate bouquets and I am head over heels with how they turned out. The flowers were delivered to my door and they looked great. If you are going the DIY route with flowers then check out the wedding vendors we used (links in resources area).
  • The bride and groom had an unconventional beverage area that worked out really well. They had a soda machine for pop supply (endless supply of quarters included), a pina colada machine filled with non-alcoholic mix, and a rum bar! They also had red and white wine. The favor cups were used and then taken home by guests. We created labels for the tops of the cups so that guests wouldn’t lose their cup in all the fun.

I love the passport program. That is what we want to do for our wedding next year but I am having trouble finding something like that. Do you sell the design anywhere?
