My little guy likes to get dressed up (no, really… he does!) He often asks for his hats or stands in front of the mirror primping his hair. So, when 7 for All Mankind sent him some complementary new threads and their Fall 2013 Lookbook I got inspired to do another swing at seven days of toddler style. This week’ I’ll be styling seven different outfits and featuring them on my Instagram stream with the hashtags #AWCPtoddlerstyle and #7FAMKids. I’ll feature the finished styles on here next week!

7 Days of Toddler Style with 7 for All Mankind

Seven MORE days of Toddler Style Goals:

  1. Use three different pieces and style at least ONE in every outfit for 7 days STRAIGHT.
  2. Make something for him to wear!

Here are the items I’ll be working with this week— All from 7 for All Mankind:

7 for All Mankind Mein Jean Shorts // Slimmy Jeans // Purple Ash Slimmy Toddler Jeans — Not all of these link to the same size/style that my kiddo is wearing. 7 For All Mankind can be found online and several different retail locations including Nordstrom. The items from the Fall 2013 Lookbook should be available in June.

Info on Sizing and Price:

My son is almost two years old and has been in sizes 18mo-2T for pants. Kids clothing are sized just as randomly as women clothing in my opinion. So, I asked for 2T sized pants from 7 for All Mankind… hoping that they’d fit, but be loose enough that he’d have room to grow. They were much larger than the 2T pants from stores such as Target or Old Navy. BUT, because they have adjustable waistbands they are able to fit fine around his waist and I just need to roll his pants to get the right length. I’m actually thrilled that the pants have the adjustable waist and lots of length— he will be able to wear these jeans for a year or more! The shorts will look like capris for a while… but, hey, he’ll just look extra trendy.

As a fairly frugal mom, I can’t tell you all about these awesome jeans without letting you know that they are fairly expensive for toddler wear. However, if he gets as much time out of these jeans as I think he will, then the price will be comparable to what I’d spend elsewhere. My son now has better jeans than I do though, so I will have to remedy that soon!

Day One Style:

This was the only smile I got all day long!

I wanted to put the little guy into patriotic red, white, and blue duds for the Memorial Day holiday. I put on his (18 month) long-sleeved, plaid, & button-up shirt from Old Navy and discovered his sleeves were a tad short now. So, up they rolled! I paired his shirt with the 7 for All Mankind blue jeans and Old Navy boat shoes. The cute H&M hat was actually picked out by my son who kept pointing at the hat and then his head saying,”HAT!” I love the idea of mixing prints and try to do it more and more… so, I guess my son taught me a thing or two this time! We did the boat shoes without socks and rolled up his jeans to give it a nice laid-back, preppy look. I think this look is a subtle way to nod to patriotic holidays such as Memorial Day or Independence Day without decking out a kid in flags.

Next week I will post all seven outfits together… in the meantime, follow along on Instagram by following @JenniBost!

Do you buy your kids clothes that fit or clothes that are slightly large?

Free product was given for the purpose of using in my style challenge. I only give my honest opinions about products I review. No other compensation was given. The original 7 Days of Style Challenge came from Lauren of The Little Things We Do. I enjoyed my foray into the 7 days of style challenge that I decided to do it again!
